More of your favourite Logitech Unifying computer accessories may now work with your Chromebook thanks to the launch of a new app, Logitech’s PR folks have told us.

The free Logitech Unifying Chromebook app — which also works with Chromebox and Chromebase, too — allows as many as six mice, keyboards, wireless headsets and other PC peripherals to be hooked up to your Chromebook through a tiny USB receiver.

Logitech say they ‘worked closely with Google’ to make sure that compatibility of their devices is as good as it can be, but do note that enhanced function keys on some of its keyboard may not work with Chrome OS.

The ASUS Chrome OS Keyboard and Mouse for Chrome OS includes a ultra-slim, compact, and quiet keyboard and a comfortable ambidextrous optical mouse that's perfect for any user. The Keyboard comes with a layout specially designed for Chrome OS, giving you easy access to all your favourite shortcuts and search keys. Even in its unfinished state, the new UI looks good. It solves a big usability gripe I have with today's Chrome OS launcher when using a mouse or trackpad — this design aims to solve that. Launched last month, the Chrome Remote Desktop extension lets you connect to and control one computer from another but it can be especially handy for bridging the gap between PC and Mac. This app is used to access the website abcmouse.com. It is available in kiosk mode if you are so inclined to use it in that way. Among the existing accessories said to already work on Chromebooks running the app are the Multi-Device Keyboard K480, the wireless H600 headset and M3 series mice.
